Harvard Engineering plc, one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of lighting control gear has won the Light Sources and Controls award at the prestigious Lighting Design Awards 2010 for its CoolLED switchable drivers.

The award highlights the importance of introducing environmentally friendly innovative solutions, a message Harvard Engineering actively enforces. It also emphasises Harvard Engineering’s position as a market leader in the sector.

CoolLED drivers provide a high performance solution for powering high-brightness LEDs from a mains supply. The high efficiency design ensures cool operation and long life. CoolLED drivers are designed to bring LED drivers to the same standard as high spec HID ballasts, offering 89 per cent efficiency at full load with a high power factor of 0.98 and surge protection of 4kV.
